I share with my list when I have something worth sending. Nothing woo-woo. No purpose journals. No fluff.

Career Strategist · Former Chief People Officer · Economist
I'm not a career coach. I'm a career strategist and thought leader on the topic of careers in general, and female executives in particular.
I believe women should confidently navigate their careers on their own terms — no matter what their employers or the economy bring.
My provocative perspective has been featured in The Wall Street Journal and on NPR.
Labor Market Read
"White-collar layoffs are up. Here's what the data says — and what it means for you."
The numbers nobody's talking about, translated for women who can't afford to wait six months to figure out what's happening.
From the Field
"Three things I'm hearing from senior women this month — and why one of them keeps me up."
What's actually going on inside the careers of accomplished women right now. The themes nobody's saying out loud.
Real Talk
"You can't outwork a system that isn't built for you to win."
Why "resilience" is the most dangerous word being sold to women in the workplace right now — and what to do instead.
I'm different. I'm not a coach.
I'm a former Chief People Officer and economist. I bring labor market data and executive experience to a reality-based conversation. I see too much fluff and snake oil from "certified" coaches in the career space — and I will call it out. I respect you too much not to.
You could get fired next Thursday.
Title, tenure, good work, loyalty? Don't count on your employer to reciprocate. That thinking belongs with the do-do bird. Too many folks are unprepared and have their heads in the sand.
So we try to outwork it — and call it resilience.
It's burnout. You can't outwork a system that isn't set up for you to succeed. We keep trying anyway, at the expense of our relationships and our physical and mental health.
We are grown-ups, and we can do hard things.
It feels unfair that the career playbook has switched up so late in our work life. Well — we know how to find a way. I call it The Always Ready Way™.
If this is your vibe — welcome.
